Please join us for the September meeting of PCARC! We will meet at the Duncannon EMS building located at 16 Shermanta Drive, Duncannon, PA 17020. The business meeting will begin at 7PM.
Following the meeting, we will hold the next training session for digital modes using Winlink with a focus on installing and configuring the VARA modem. If time allows, we will also set up our computers for FT8.
An email was sent previously with information for external sound cards. Please bring a radio, antenna or dummy load, your chosen sound card, and your computer with the previously installed Winlink software. VARA requires rather fast switching between transmit and receive for a successful connection, so a sound card with PTT control is strongly recommended for this session. I will have HF, VHF, and UHF capabilities, so feel free to bring whichever radio you would prefer for configuration and we will be able to test your settings.
