Hello all! A few announcements –
Firstly, the **February monthly meeting is cancelled** due to scheduling conflicts for officers that evening. Most of our cabinet will not be able to attend. We will have our next meeting in March, date/info to be posted soon.
Next, Kurt was in contact with Rich Fultz at the county EOC. He would like interested members to have a meeting to be introduced and discuss the equipment at the EOC and intended goals/purposes for its use. If you are interested in being part of the emergency communications team and have not already done so, please send your name and email to Kurt so he has an up-to-date list. Kurt is not on Facebook and will disburse information via email, so please sign up at bit.ly/pcarcgio if you are not already there. Please keep in mind that your willingness to participate does not mean you are under any obligation to participate to a certain level. We also do not expect all members to be part of this team. Our club is exploring multiple aspects of Amateur Radio and this is just one of the many offerings we hope to make available for members! You need only offer your assistance if you are truly interested in emergency communications.
Finally, in the spirit of other activities, PCARC would like to host a Fox Hunt this spring! Our goal is to host the fox hunt around May-June. As we build up to the Fox Hunt, our next few meetings will include projects and presentations to prepare members for the activity. For our March meeting, we will be constructing tape measure directional antennas. Please look to the following post for details about preparing for this project. We also would like to invite members to encourage non-licensed persons who may be interested to join us.
Thank you all for continuing to make PCARC a fun and engaging experience and steadily increasing our membership and participation! YOU are what makes the club successful!
