Field Day 2024 is this upcoming weekend (Jun 22-23rd)! Our club will be returning to Mark, N3RPM’s residence for the event. The address is 153 Pisgah State Rd, Shermans Dale, PA 17090. The official operating time runs from 2:00 PM (14:00 local time) Saturday to 2:00 PM Sunday. We plan to meet around 8:00 AM on Saturday morning to begin setup.
Our host has asked if attendees could bring drinks or covered/side dishes for meals as well as chairs, umbrellas, or rain jackets in case we get some rain. The early forecast appears to be calling for some thunderstorms on Sunday. Also, the weather looks to be around 98 degrees for the high on Saturday, so plan accordingly!
We have plans for 2-3 positions for the event. We will run off solar/battery power and Mark has antennas. I will bring my equipment, including the band pass filters, so we can run multiple stations at the same time.
If you have some equipment you would like to contribute and/or test during the event, please bring it along! I will bring my FT-991A and my FT-891, but the FT-891 can be a challenge if you are not used to the hidden menu systems. If you have a preferred rig, we would be happy to use it in place and keep the FT-891 as a backup rig.
Lastly, if anyone has a drone they could bring, we would enjoy the ability to take some aerial shots of our setup this year. Please let us know!
